Maxim Nyansa Foundation
VP Grantee

Maxim Nyansa Foundation, a first-year grantee of the New Africa Fund, offers advanced computer training to underprivileged young Africans, with a mission to create career perspectives and equip them for the local and international job market.
The organization was co-founded in 2016 by Stanley Kwakye Dankyira, a young Ghanaian educator who was affected by the inefficiency of teaching ICT in schools through theoretical material and very little practice time, due to a lack of resources.
Maxim Nyansa operates three main programs:
-
Learning transformation – Maxim Nyansa helps schools to set up their IT labs and offers digital educational materials based on the school’s curriculum. They offer digital skills training for teachers and students and introduce interactive teaching methods.
-
IT professional training – The organization offers professional IT training for young ICT graduates from underprivileged backgrounds. The training allows them to specialize and gain international certification in software development, data science or cyber security, along with providing personal development skills and career coaching. The organization also offers a women’s only course, to encourage young women to join the training and create an environment where they feel they can flourish.
-
Professional IT certification – Maxim Nyansa Foundation represents EXIN – a Dutch company that certifies IT professionals worldwide – in Ghana and West Africa at large. The foundation allows young IT professionals to take the EXIN exams for more affordable prices, enabling them to catch up and keep up to date with international requirements in the competitive and dynamic IT job market.
Since its founding, Maxim Nyansa has expanded its work to Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Burkina Faso, with a vision to continue and expand its outreach and impact to other African countries.
