Youth Empowerment Foundation (YEF) is a non-profit non-governmental organization founded in 1995 by two sisters Iwalola and Fiwasade in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria. YEF implements projects in WASH, Education, Sports for development, environment and leadership, targeting young people and youth across indigent communities in Nigeria. The organization focuses on improving knowledge, behaviors and skills for young people, in partnership with government agencies, community-based organizations and corporate organizations.

 

Now working out of 2 field offices and a head office in Surulere, Lagos with 50 staff, volunteers and ad-hoc staff, YEF delivers high quality programs and services enhancing livelihood and life-skills through integrated employability and apprenticeship training. Wellness and nutrition is cross-cutting across their programs as they use sports to deliver much of their work, contributing to improved physical fitness, good mental health and building teamwork skills.
